I’m a photographer, remember – so I’ve taken all the photographs on this site illustrating lighting and sets, and I shoot the performances themselves ( usually at a dress rehearsal ) to build a permanent record. But as well as this, I supply advance press photos to advertise the productions.
Oviously these need to be produced at a fairly early stage – usually before the sets or costumes are available – so I have to try to create the essence of the production under just bare theatre lights. I still want them to look like an actual performance, though …
