I’m Strat Mastoris. Welcome to Seeing Stages. December 2025
Theatre is, of course, about telling stories, and without some sort of text it is nothing.
But it’s also an intensely visual medium, and the stage performance is brought to life by the sets and lighting. I’ve been involved in lighting and set design for well over a decade, and the Seeing Stages website showcases some of that body of work. The header image is of New Venture’s 2019 production of ‘The Father’, for which I produced the set as well as the lighting.
You can keep up with my most recent activities on the ‘current projects’ page, and take a look at my lighting, photography and set design on subsequent pages. I’m a photographer as well as a lighting designer, so I’ve taken all the production photographs on the site myself – just click on any image to see it at full size.
Photo thanks to Kate Alderton, taken during the lighting of ‘Constellations’ in June 2024 at New Venture Theatre, where she gave a great performance as Marianne the astrophysicist.

Hello Strat! I was wondering if you’d be able to email me any pictures you have from 2015 Hamlet (if you still have them) Hope you are well, Lily x
